God talks to Eli Thompson. The first time it happened, he had deceived a cheerleader into the backseat of his brother’s hot-wired Plymouth. He didn’t pull out as promised. He later told her that God wanted them to have the baby. He marries her, building his life and church on their sons. Eli tries very hard to listen to God. God tells him he can save us all.
Deborah Adams secretly believes in nothing. This would come as a shock to her friends, family, and priest. She toys with the idea that she might believe in one thing: her last life ended in a rice paddy in Vietnam. One day, God begins to talk to her. Deborah tries not to listen to God. God tells her to kill Eli Thompson.
In a chance encounter, as Deborah waits on the side of the road for a funeral to pass, she learns who Eli Thompson is and what he does. She begins to think she might believe in God after all.
The Eli Project is a work in progress. I am just over half way through the manuscript.
